Products used/reviewed:
The following products were either used to create elements of or the website itself. For the Cliparts: Adobe PhotoDeluxe was used in editing and revising cliparts. Photodeluxe came free with the scanner so it was the right price, and had all the tools that we felt we needed for our cliparts. The procedure for all of our cliparts was: they were hand drawn, scanned in using an HP 5200C scanner, modified by Photodeluxe (color modifications, corrections, resizing), andsaved in jpg format before moving into the next stage of creation. Photodeluxes good features are that it is fairly straightforward in it tools. Everything is easy to find and editing images can be done with great ease. I would expect a lot less from a throw in product. However, Photodeluxe does have one great downfall that is not yet corrected
by Adobe but was labelled by thier support as in progress. It can sometimes
run into the problem, if you save a picture and then exit the program,
sometimes your picture saves, but is corrupt so you cannot use it. Adobe
explained to us that they are aware of this problem and it has something
to do with profiles. They explained that if you are saving one directory
up from the root directory, then you will not encounter this problem.
Another annoying thing about Photodeluxe is the fact that is automatically
saves a picture of everything into a gallery. This is annoying when
you open and look at 500 plus clips because you have to empty your gallery
after. Other than that it served our purpose well and we will continue to use it. Grade 4 out of 5. |
