1. Site News

Free Money from Clips Ahoy! We have a monthly draw in which we draw a name from our active subscribers. Why? Because we appreciate your interest in our site. Active subscriber is the key word though, if we draw someone that is listed as unsubscibed we have to draw again. If the winner doesn't notify us of their address before the newsletter after they are announced, we will throw them back into the hat and announce someone else in the next newsletter. Draw is the first newsletter of each month. You should note that we are not publicly displaying the win $20 note at this time, but that we still doing the draw. You thought you were only getting an email telling you about new clipart, not money :) Feel Free to let your friends know, but only if they like reading about what new clipart we are adding!

The winner last week did not respond, the new winner of the draw is somewhere in this newsletter!

We added a bunch of smaller ad banners beside our main banner to try to pay for our extra costs for bandwidth. It is expensive running a free clip art website! Those banners pay us a few cents every time someone clicks on them, so please take the time to have a look at what they offer if you see something interesting. Those smaller banners will open a new window.

Also in relation to paying our bills, we have added a new form of ads in which a pop up ad window comes up once in a while. Unfortuneately, this is the way advertising is going, so we had to do this. We are told that the occurance level is supposed to be low enough that it shouldn't hinder the user.

5. Question of the Week

Q: When I save your clipart, it saves as a .art file. What can I do?

A: As far as I know this is a problem for Aol users and some other providers that use their own email programs. There is one thing that you can try first for saving the graphics: Right click on the image, select the option copy. Once you do that, go into the program that you want it in and right click(or select edit) then select paste. This will put it into word or whereever you want it for at least some people. If this doesn't work for you, or you need it in another program. You will have save it to a bitmap format first. You should be able to select file type. You can then open it with a graphics program and convert it to a gif.
